John H. Dunaway, 85, formerly of Lima, died Tuesday in a Sioux City, Iowa, hospital after a long illness.

Born Oct. 10, 1888, in McDuffie County, Ga., Mr. Dunaway is survived by a son, John T. of Lima; two daughters, Mrs. Robert J. Steele of Sioux City, Iowa, and Mrs. Ann Epting of Atlanta, Ga.; a brother, Russell L. of Lima; three grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

He was an engineer for the Baltimore and Ohio Railroad from which he retired in 1954. He later moved to Atlanta, Ga., an then to the Iowa city. He was a member of Lima Lodge 205 of the Free and Accepted Masons for more than 50 years and was a 50-year member of the York Rite here and a member of the local Moose Lodge.

Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday at the Westview Abbey Cemetery, Atlanta, Ga.

Friends may call at the Patterson Funeral Home, Atlanta, on Thursday and until services.
