JOHN F DODEN OF LANGWORTHY DIES AFTER LONG ILLNESS
John F Doden, Langworthy, and longtime resident of that vicinity, died Thursday, Dec.11, after several month illness, at the age of 82 years. Funeral service was held Dec. 14, with Rev. F.H. Kehren, pastor of the Wayne Lutheran church in charge.
Casket bearers were Ben Wolken, Herman Stutt, Eberhard Prull, Gerd Prull, John Dirks and William Oltmann. Singers at the service were Alva Gerdes and George Harms.
John Friedrich Dodden was born Oct. 19, 1860 in Oldenburg, Austria, the son of John and Anna Doden. He came to this country in March, 1884, and made his home at Langworthy with uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. Henry Seba. He was married to Talke Dirks Jan. 8, 1889, and farmed in that vicinity until his retirement about 19 years ago.
Survivors are his wife, his children, Mrs. William Plueger, Mrs. Carl Pluegar, J.H. Rhinehart, Mrs. Martha Doden, Mrs. Tobe Hinrichs, and Mrs. Henry J. Brockens; one brother, John, three sisters in Germany, 23 grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
