Susan Ann Black, 60, of Clyde, died Saturday.
Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday at the First United Methodist Church in Clyde with Rev. Lou Ellerbrook and Rev. James Holman officiating. Graveside services will be at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Portales Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Symonds officiating. Memorial services will be at 2:00 p.m. Friday at St. Paul United Methodist Church in Albuquerque, NM.
Mrs. Black was born January 28, 1948, in Abilene, Texas to A.G and Lucille (Parnell) Dement. She was a graduate of Levelland High School. She was also a graduate of Eastern New Mexico University in Portales, NM. She married Douglas Black on August 28, 1971, in Portales. They moved to Clyde from Albuquerque in 2006. Mrs. Black served for 33 years as Director of Music Ministries, first at Grace Methodist Church in Alamagordo,NM, then at Asbury Methodist Church and finally at St. Paul United Methodist Church, both in Albuquerque. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Clyde.
She is survived by her husband, Doug Black of Clyde; three daughters, Jenny Brown and husband, Greg of Magnolia, Texas, Debbie Thompson and husband, Chris of Albuquerque, NM, and Amanda Horvath and husband, Patrick of Fresno, California; her mother, Lucille Dement of Clyde; her brother, Ted Dement and wife, Jane of Clyde and her sister, Cynthia White and husband, Jay of Munday.
Visitation will be from 6:00 ? 7:30 p.m. Monday at Bailey Funeral Home in Clyde.
