Mrs. Dement was born November 28, 1918, in Albany, Texas to John Calvin and Dovie (Vinson) Parnell. She graduated from Albany High School and later attended Texas Women's College. She was the widow of A.G. Dement who she married March 30, 1942, in San Diego, California. After Mr. Dement's death, she moved to Clyde from Kempner in 1995. She was a Legal Secretary in Levelland and Pasadena. Mrs. Dement was a member of Clyde First United Methodist Church. Mrs. Dement is survived by one son, Ted Michael Dement and wife Jane of Clyde; one daughter, Cynthia Louise White and husband Jay of Munday; one son-in-law, Doug Black of Clyde; eight grandchildren, Joel Dement, John Dement, Jenny Brown, Debbie Thompson, Amanda Horvath, Andrea Hunter, Jay Allen White and Lee White; eighteen great grandchildren, Lynsey Gabert, Nolan, Cade, Cole, Jennifer & Jaden Dement, Shayla, Chance, Sheyenne, Jake, & Laramie Dement, Baileigh Weigand-Hunter, Aiden, Evan and Jon Reese Hunter, Cooper Douglas Thompson, and soon to arrive, baby of Jenny Brown and husband Greg. She is preceded in death by her parents, John Calvin and Dovie Parnell; daughter Susan Ann Black; two brothers, J.C. and Bunk Parnell; three sisters, Mamie Pearl Lenex, Ruby Moore, and twin Louise Anderson.
