Rebecca J. Bradley, daughter of Elijah Bradley and Nancy Waddle.
Granddaughter of Henry Bradley and Nancy Hall Kerley; and David Waddle and Anna Wilson.

First wife of Thomas Willard Abell, married on 21 Aug 1874 in Dubois County, Indiana.
Confirmed by Dubois County Marriage records Book 3 page 104.

There is conflict with Rebecca's birth and death dates. According to census returns and other documents we know that Rebecca was not born in 1858. Also, with information on the death notice, birth and death records and the headstone dates, it is not certain if Rebecca died in 1892 or in early 1893 with the birth of Thomas Jr.

Headstone reading: Rebecca Abell 1858-1892, buried next to her husband Thomas, daughter Dora and sons Gilbert and Sampson. 5 empty spaces.

Rebecca was the mother of Sarah Cassinda (birth father not proven; her documented birth date is before the wedding), Albert, Sampson, Gilbert, Andrew Chester, Ida Katherine, Dora, Charles Grover and possibly Thomas Abell Jr.

Note: there is confusion with the name Mary J. that shows up on documents including the birth record for Thomas Abell Jr. At this point in time, we do not know who Mary is.
**There is a record of death in Dubois County for Mary J. Abel, 41 years old, died 7 Feb 1893 Book CO-01 page 212.
