She was united in marriage to Adolph Arp, December 21, 1899. To them three sons were born: Henry, Walter, and Herbert, all of near Mendon. Mr. Arp passed away July 14, 1934.
Mrs. Arp united with the St. John's Lutheran Church, September 17, 1927. She transferred her membership to Zion Methodist Church May 16, 1948, where she remained a faithful member.
Besides her sons, she leaves of her family: two sisters, Mrs. Emma Wolf of Brunswick and Mrs. Amanda Joseph, of Kansas City; one brother, George Tietjens, of Brunswick. One sister, Mrs. Mathilda Jansen and three brothers, John, Gustav and Henry Tietjens, preceded her in death. She also leaves 11 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews and other friends.
Funeral services were conducted at Zion Methodist Church, January 4, 1957, by Rev. Ray S. Tomlin, pastor of Brunswick Methodist church. Music was provided by the Zion Church. Burial was in the German Cemetery, near Indian Grove.
The following grandsons served as pall bearers: Darrell Arp, Clifford Arp, Verl Arp, Arnold Arp, Marvin Arp, and Leonard Arp.
