William Herbert Arp
A former Mendon resident, 88-year-old William Herbert Arp, died April 14, 1996 at his home in Keytesville.
Herbert was born Sept. 4, 1907 in Mendon, the son of Adolph (Otto) and Bertha Tietjens Arp. He attended Zion country school and followed the occupation of farming. He was married to Myrtis Riley on Feb. 2, 1931 in Sedalia, Missouri.
He was a member of St. John's Lutheran Church of Brunswick.
Survivors include his wife Myrtis of the home; five sons, Marvin Arp, Brunswick, Arnold Arp, Kansas City, Kansas, Clifford Arp, Moberly, Missouri, Herschell Arp and Norman Arp, both of Independence, Missouri; one daughter, Treva Friesz, Keytesville, Missouri; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one son, Leonard, his parents, two brothers, Walter and Henry, and one grandson, Steven.
Funeral services were conducted Tuesday, April 16 at the Heisel-Koch Funeral Home in Brunswick with the Pastor Glen Drewitz officiating. Burial was in the Elliott Grove Cemetery.
Pallbearers were: Beuford Joseph, Elmer Leimkuehler, Sr., Donald Arp, Leslie Heisel, Fred Carpenter and Charles Brandt.
The family suggests contributions to St. John's Lutheran Church in memory of Mr. Arp.
