Bennie Marie (Bradford) Allison, 92, of Portola, CA died Mar 23, 2011 at Eastern Plumas Health Care Skilled Nursing in the arms of her daughter. She was born May 23, 1918 at home near Rock Springs Community Church in Pope County, Arkansas, the youngest child of eleven children of Lonnie and Anne Belle (Kinslow) Bradford. Bennie grow up in and around Atkins, Crow Mountain and Hector, AR. She met the love of her life, Eugene Voris Allison and on Jun 5, 1938 they were married in the Methodist Church in Mariposa, CA. Bennie became a homemaker and devoted herself to her family. She and Voris had four children, one of which survives, Betty June (Allison) Garner (Graeagle, CA). Through their married life they lived in California, Texas, Arkansas and Nevada. They enjoyed traveling to see family and friends and visiting Las Vegas, Reno/Sparks and Lake Tahoe. In later years, they moved to the Villas in the Reno/Sparks, Nevada to be near their daughter and family. Bennie enjoyed playing Skipbo and she became known as the "Skipbo Queen". In later years, Bennie moved to Eastern Plumas Health Care Skilled Nursing. She was a gentle person and was loved by many. She especially enjoyed being in the peaceful mountain environment observing the wild life.
Bennie was preceded in death by her parents, husband, infant daughter, sons Robert Eugene Allison (Glenda) and Donald Ray Allison, a grandson, Shaun Errick Allison and nine brothers and sisters.
She is survived by her daughter, Betty "June" Garner (Duane); her grandsons, Brian Garner (Mary), Deane Garner (Satin), Evan Garner and Mark Allison; granddaughters, Stephanie Johnson (Michael) and Jennifer Hovda (Eric); great-grandchildren, William, Daniel, Allison, Darian, Anthony, Tahoe, Garner, Amanda, Breanna, Matthew and Joseph; one sister, Sylvia Ruth ("Sue" Bradford) Pollard and many nieces and nephews.
