Betty Jane Acord
Estherville – Services for Betty Jane Acord, 68, will be held Monday at 10:30 a.m. at the United Methodist Church with the Rev. David Wendel officiating. Interment will be in East Side Cemetery. She died Thursday, March 14, 1991 at Holy Family Hospital.

Friends may call at Henry-Olson-Fuhrman Funeral Home from 4-9 p.m. Sunday.

She was born Feb. 20, 1923 at West Chicago, Ill. the daughter of Frank and Sarah (Clark) Hartman and moved with her family to the Gruver area in 1934 where she graduated from Gruver High School in 1941. On June 18, 1949 she married Oscar Acord in the United Methodist Church in Estherville. She was employed at the John Morrell Plant office in Estherville for a number of years. She was a member of the United Methodist Church.

Survivors include her husband Oscar, Estherville; one son Richard L. Acord of Ceiba, Pueerto Rico and one daughter Mrs. Ralph (Pat) Lausen, Estherville; three grandchildren: Martha and Amanda Acord and Andrew Lausen; two brothers: Jim and Bob Hartman, Estherville; one sister, Charlotte Lrason, Virginia Beach, Va.

She was preceded in death by her parents and an infant brother. (Estherville Daily News, Estherville, IA, March 16, 1991)
