Ronald Carl Bailey, 72, of Frenchton, passed away Friday, December 28, 2007 in Buckhannon. He was born December 17, 1935, in Tallmansville, a son of the late Jacob Arthur and Hazel Maude Foy Bailey. In addition to his parents, four brothers and two sisters also preceded him in death.
Surviving are: stepdaughter Tammy Strawderman and husband Jim of Wake Forest, NC; sister Lorraine Hope DeBarr of Follansbee; five brothers: Harry Foy Bailey and wife Kathleen of Niles, Ohio, Billy Richard Bailey and wife Elaine of Tallmansville, Thomas Eugene Bailey and Bettie of Tallmansville, Robert Edward Bailey and wife Rita of Barberton, Ohio and Jacob Earl Bailey and wife Joan of Fairmont.
Mr. Bailey retired as a custodian from the West Virginia Equipment Division in Buckhannon and was a member of the Tallmansville Baptist Church.
The family will receive friends today, December 31, 2007 from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. at the Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel. He will lie in state on Tuesday, January 1, 2008 from 1 p.m. to 2 p.m. at the Tallmansville Baptist Church with funeral services beginning at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Bradley Tenney and the Rev. Tim Lewis officiating. The burial will follow at the Bailey Cemetery in Bailey Ridge.
In lieu of flowers the family requests that donations be made to the Tallmansville Baptist Church or to the Bailey Cemetery Upkeep Fund.
The Tomblyn-Whitescarver Funeral Chapel of Buckhannon is in charge of the arrangements.
