Mrs. Malinda Louella Simmons Eckard, 78, of Sugar Grove, W.Va. died at her home Sunday, April 24. A daughter of the late Mordicai and Feloma Smith Simmons, she was born Jan. 14, 1888 in Pendleton County, W.Va. Survivors are her husband, N. Webster Eckard; two sons, Clyde and Eldon Eckard, both of Sugar Grove; a sister, Mrs. Lee Puffenbarger of Headwaters; two brothers, Clay Simmons, Staunton, and Calvin Simmons, Arlington; and one grandchild. Services were held Tuesday, April 26 from Crummett's Run Church of the Brethren by the Rev. Herman S. Craig and the Rev. Jimmy Robinson. Burial was in the adjoining cemetery with arrangements by Obaugh Funeral Home.
