Alfred Olai Anderson was born August 31, 1883, on a farm east of Hazel Run, Minnesota, the son of pioneer parents, Ole C. and Anne (Listul) Anderson. He was baptized in the old Yellow Medicine Church located one and one-half miles west of Hanley Falls, Minnesota, by Rev. Thorstenson. He was confirmed June 26, 1898, at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church by Rev. J.S. Strand and continued to be a member of that church his entire life.

He was united in marriage to Sena Lee at Rio, Wisconsin, on March 18, 1908. They observed their 50th anniversary on March 16, 1958, at the Hazel Run Lutheran Church.

Mr. Anderson spent his entire life in the Hazel Run community. He farmed a number of years after which he moved to Hazel Run and there resided until the time of his death.

He passed away at the Granite Falls Hospital on Friday evening, November 17, 1967, at the age of 84 years.

He was preceded in death by one son, Walton; one granddaughter, Susan Anderson; one grandson, Gary Homme; his parents; his brothers: Cornelius, Gilbert, Ole; four sisters: Julia (Mrs. W.C. Thompson), Ninnie (Mrs. C.C. Thompson), Dora and Tilla Anderson.

He is survived by his wife, Sena; two daughters: Iola of Hazel Run and Maysel (Mrs. Grant Homme) of Belview; and one son, John, of Hazel Run; one sister, Anne (Mrs. Carl Hodnefield) of Minneapolis; 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
