Lester C. Allen, 67, of Route 1, Maple Park, died Monday, May 2, 1966 at the Sandwich Community Hospital.

He was born January 14, 1899 in Viola Township, Lee County, the son of Clarendon Allen and Emma Willman Allen. He was educated in the Lee and Maple Park schools and December 28, 1920 married Bernice Krieger in Ottawa. He had farmed in the Pierce area for 40 years and was a member of the Pierce Evangelical United Brethren Church, the Kane County Farm bureau, the Pure Milk Association and a trustee of the Pierce Church and a member of the Kaneville grade school board.

Survivors include his wife; one son, Merle Allen at home; a daughter, Mrs. Virtus (Marilyn) McNary of Aurora; two grandchildren, and three brothers, J. W. Allen of DeKalb, Wayne Allen of Aurora and Ellis Allen of Elburn.

He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers, Floyd and Stanley.

Funeral services will be held this Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Pierce Evangelical United Brethren Church with the Rev. Irvine Huber officiating. Burial will be in East Pierce Cemetery. Pallbearers are Francis Miller, Everett Plapp, Bob Probst, Stanley Schumacher, Oliver Westphal and Floyd Leisch.

Friends may call at the Nash Memorial Chapel until time of service.
