Howards Grove -- (Special) -- Funeral services for Charles Augustine, 79, who passed away at his home in the town of Mosel at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, will be held at 1:30 p.m. Monday at the Augustine homestead in the town of Mosel and at 2 p.m. at St. Paul's Evangelical and Reformed church there. The Rev. W. C. Beckman will officiate and burial will be in the church cemetery.
The body will lie in state at the Walter H. Ahrens Funeral Home at Howards Grove from Saturday morning until 10 a.m. Sunday, when it will be taken to the family home.
Mr. Augustine was born April 2,1860, in the town of Mosel on the present Augustine homestead where he spent his entire life.
On Oct. 28, 1888, he was married to Augusta Hopf, who survives with seven children: Edwin of Stratford, Wis., Fred, Frank, and Mrs. Arthur Thiel, Sheboygan; Richard, Robert and Albert, at home; 10 grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. Otto Zschetzsche and Mrs. Herman Zschetzsche, and a brother, Louis, who resides on the homestead. On son, Carl, died in 1933.
Mr. Augustine served the township of Mosel as chairman for eight years and was a member of the school board of District, No. 2 for several years.
