Richard Augustine

Richard Augustine, 88, of Route 1, Sheboygan, died Monday at Morningside Nursing Home.

He was born Aug. 30, 1893, in the Town of Mosel, son of Charles and Augusta Hopf Augustine.

Mr. Augustine farmed on the homestead his entire life.

During World War I, he served in the U.S. Army in Russia with the 339th Infantry, Company M.

He was a member of St. Mark United Church of Christ in the Town of Mosel. Surviving are a brother, Robert of Route 1, Sheboygan and a sister, Mrs. Esther Thiel of Waldo.

Five brothers preceded him in death.

Funeral services will be Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at St. Mark United Church of Christ, the Rev. Clarence Schmidt, officiating. Burial will be in St. Paul Cemetery in the Town of Mosel, where military rites will be held.

Friends may call at the Ahrens Funeral Home in Howards Grove from 5 to 9 p.m. Wednesday until 11 a.m. Thursday and at the church from noon until the time of services.

A memorial fund has been established in Mr. Augustine’s name for St. Mark Church.
