Ron graduated from the Hinckley-Big Rock Schools in Hinckley. Well known general contractor in the area. United in marriage to Rita Michael on November 18, 1961 in Big Rock, Il.
Four Children: Jerry, Todd, Rodney and Tonya all of Big Rock, Il. Four grandchildren: Joshua, Clinton, Randi and Jacob.

Ronald E. Jandt, 53, of Big Rock, passed away Thursday, January 6, 1994, at Kishwaukee Community Hospital in DeKalb. He was born December 12, 1940, in DeKalb the son of Irvin O. and Celestine M. (Fahrlander) Jandt.

Ron graduated from the Hinckley-Big Rock Schools in Hinckley. He was united in marriage to the former Rita Michael November 18, 1961, in Big Rock.

He was a well known general contractor in the area. Ron was very active in his community. He coached 25 years in the little league boy’s baseball and girls softball. He was a Webelos leader and an assistant Cub Scoutmaster for five years.

He was a member of the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Hinckley. Ron was a member of the Sandwich Moose and Tiger Club.

Survivors include his wife, Rita of Big Rock; four children, Jerry, Todd, Rodney, and Tonya, all of Big Rock; four grandchildren, Joshua, Clinton, Randi, and Jacob; his mother, Celestine Jandt of Hinckley; a sister, Betty L. Harris of Mountain Home, AR; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Irvin; a brother, Gerald; and an infant sister, Rita Ann.

Funeral services were held Sunday at the St. Paul’s United Church of Christ in Hinckley, the Reverend Kate Feeney-Bastian officiating. Interment was at Greenwood Cemetery, Hinckley.

Pallbearers were John Bazan, Dick Bushnell, Roger Kaus, Terry Minor, Greg Brita, and Maurice Kennedy.
