Smith Anna Clair Faribault Daily News 31/Jan/1956 Funeral services were held Saturday morning, Jan. 21, at 10:30 o'clock at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Shieldsville for Mrs. John J. Smith, who died at St. Lucas Deaconess Hospital Jan. 19. The solemn requiem Mass was celebrated by her brother, the Rev. Vincent Dudley, assisted by her nephews, the Rev. Frank Dudley of St. Paul, and the Rev. Paul Dudley of Minneapolis, and the Rev. John Joyce. Pallbearers were six of Mrs. Smith's nephews: Joseph Dudley of St. Paul, Robert Dudley of Northfhield, Vincent Dudley, of Rochester, Gerald Dudley of Shieldsville, Edward Dudley of LeCenter and John Byrne of St. Paul. Relatives and friends who attended the funeral were from Minneapolis, St. Paul, Rochester, Northfield, Kilkenny, Waseca, Winstead, Montgomery, Waterville, LeCenter and Eau Claire, Wis. Anna Clair Dudley, the daughter of John and Sarah Healy Dudley, was born Oct. 25, 1888, in Erin Township. She attended the rural school and Bethlehem Academy. She was united in marriage to John J. Smith on Feb. 3, 1920, in St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Survivors are her husband, John; three daughters: Mrs. William Hagerty (Margaret) of Dundas, Rita and Mary of Faribault; a son, Joseph at home; 11 grandchildren; three sisters: Mrs. Thomas Byrne of Kilkenny, Mrs. Thomas Mealia and Helen Dudley of Faribault; five brothers: the Rev. Vincent Dudley of St. Henry, Joseph of Faribault, William and George of Shieldsville and Edward of Northfield.
