Funeral services for Mrs. Mary C. Byrne, 87, of 722 NW Ninth St., Faribault, were held on April 28 at the Immaculate Conception Church in Faribault with the Rev. Donald Tomlinson assisted by the Rev. Frank Dudley and the Rev. Paul Dudley of St. Paul, officiating. Interment was made in Calvary Cemetery in Kilkenny.
Pallbearers were Joe Smith, Robert Dudley, John Byrne of Faribault, John Dudley, Dennis Dudley of Waterville and Richard Byrne of St. Paul.
Mary C. Dudley Byrne was born on Sept. 18, 1882, to John and Sarah Healey Dudley in Shieldsville. She attended the public schools and State Normal School. She taught rural school in North Dakota and Minnesota.
She was united in marriage on Aug. 8, 1911, in Shieldsville to Thomas P. Byrne.
Mrs. Byrne was a member of St. Canice Church in Kilkenny, the Immaculate Conception Church in Faribault and was a member of both Rosary Societies.
Mrs. Byrne, who passed away at St. Lucas Convalescent and Geriatric Care Center on April 25, is survived by three sons, Vincent J. Byrne of Faribault, John D. Byrne of St. Paul and Francis T. Byrne of Silver Springs, Md.; 13 grandchildren, three great-grandchildren; one sister, Helen Dudley of St. Paul; three brothers, the Rev. Vincent Dudley of St. Henry (LeSueur), Edward Dudley of Northfield and William Dudley of Shieldsville.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, five brothers and three sisters. Friends and relatives attended from Waseca, Winstead, Minneapolis, St. Paul, Maryland Center and Mankato.
