Andrew Bryant Dies at Age 87

Andrew Bryant, 87, resident of 321 North Prentiss died at his home Wednesday morning after a long illness. Mr. Bryant was a native of Smith County and lived for a number of years in Magee, Miss. before moving to Jackson 34 years ago. He was a member of Parkway Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Mollie Hughes Bryant of Jackson; one daughter, Mrs. Robert Roberts of Crystal Springs; two sons, Rev. O. C. Bryant of Notasulga, Ala., and Otha Bryant of Jackson; one sister, Miss Annie Jane Bryant of Magee; five brothers, Levi Bryant of Okalona, Miley Bryant of Crystal Springs, and Spurgeon Bryant of Notasulga, Ala. and Robert Bryant, all of Magee. [sic appears one brother, Charlie Monroe omited]

Ten grandchildren and 17 great grandchildren also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday from Parkway Baptist Church, with his pastor, Dr. G. Norman Price, officiating.

Interment will be made in Lakewood Memorial Park under the direction of Baldwin Funeral Home.

Active pallbearers will be grandsons and great grandsons of Mr. Bryant.
