Margaret Ann was born near Harpers Ferry in what was then Virginia (now West Virginia)possibly along Taylor Creek. She was the 2nd of 8 children born to James Harrison Lee and Rachel Baldwin. The family moved to Ohio in the Spring of 1851 and lived for a time in Guernsey County then Muskingum. She married her 2nd cousin Jacob Arick in 1864. Her grandfather Asel Lee was a sister to Jacob's grandmother Mary Ann Lee Petty. Jacob and Margaret had two sons.
