Rose M. Butler (1928-2012)


SHERMAN - Graveside services for Rose M. Butler, 84, will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, April 13, 2012 at Hope Cemetery, Henrietta, Texas with Glenn Reagan officiating. Mrs. Butler passed from this life on Sunday, April 8, 2012 at the Renaissance.

Rose was born January 1, 1928 in Clay County to Peter and Christine (Hoerth) Wiist and was one of twelve children from this union. Rose attended and graduated from the Henrietta Public Schools. Rose married the love of her life, Charles Butler, on June 1, 1946 in Henrietta. She worked as a homemaker, raising their two sons. During her early years, Rose enjoyed golfing and bowling, bridge and poker. She loved going to and spending summers in the Rocky Mountains. Her passion was spending time with her family.

Rose was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and ten brothers and sisters.

She is survived by her sons, James Bruce Butler and wife, Kathryn of Sherman, Capt. Charles L. Butler, USN retired, and wife, Mary Rose of Annandale, Va., six grandchildren, David and Christine Clark, Mac and Julie Butler, Gabe and Shelly Butler, Malia Butler, Travis and Charlene Lyons, and Kasey Butler, nine great-grandchildren, a sister, Freda Musick of Amarillo, sisters-in-law, Toni Wiist of Oklahoma City, and Billie Butler of Sparks, Nev., and numerous nieces and nephews.
