James and Helena attended William Penn's wedding in 1672.

James Claypoole was a British merchant who was familiar with the boats in the harbor. There was an older Concord that sailed England to Barbadoes. This apparently was a newer version. "London the 6th, 12mo, 1682/83 (date old style making this the month of Feb.) We are all inclined to go on this vessel now put up, she is a brave ship of 500 tons burden, and 26 guns, called the Concord, the master, William Jeffries, who has used long the Virginia trade and is well acquainted with that voyage...."
This comes from London Port books: Jeffries William, Concord, 450 or 500 tons, 40 guns, to Pennsylvania 1683.

CLAYPOOLE, James, pioneer, born in 1634; died in August, 1686. He was the fifth son of John Claypoole, and his wife Mary, daughter of William Angell, of London. His brother John married the daughter of Oliver Cromwell. James became a Quaker, and was an intimate friend of William Penn. He was a merchant in London, and witnessed the signing of the Charter of Privileges granted by Penn to the settlers in 1682. First signature on Charter of Pennsylvania after William Penn. He was the treasurer of the Free society of traders, which was formed to assist in the settlement of Pennsylvania, and, after attending to its affairs in England, he immigrated with his family, in 1683, to Pennsylvania, where he held important offices.

Came to PA having previously secured 5,000 acres of land from William Penn (October 1681) and settled a Colony at Germantown, PA. He was Treasurer of the "Free Society of Traders of PA; Justice of the Peace; Judge in the Provincial Court; member of the Governor's Council and also of the Assembly of PA, and in 1686 was Register-General of PA. He resided in Phildelphia, and was a prominent merchant-citizen of June 8, 1683. He left a will in record book number 8, page 110.
