Claypoole Genealogy, The Pennsylvania Magazine of History, Vol 14, page 86, quotes George's father, James Claypoole: "My sonne Georg was borne ye 14th day 11 Month 1674 about ye 9th hour in the Evening in Scots yard as above [near London stone]." Quaker "11 Month" was January of the next year, and 10 days must be added for leap year correction since 1582, yielding 24 Jan 1675 as the Gregorian Calendar date of George's birth.

Quaker records from the Philadelphia Monthly Meeting, Arch Street, show George's death date as "10-23-1730". Quaker "10th month" was December in 1730, and 11 days must be added for leap year correction since 1582, yielding 3 Jan 1731 as the Gregorian Calendar date.

After the death of his 1st wife Mary Righton in 1702, George married 2nd Martha Hoskins in 1704 and 3rd Deborah Hardiman in 1715.
