Curtis Anderson Perrin lost his battle with lung and throat cancer December 20, 1977 at Bethany Medical Center in Kansas City, Kansas. He was a former resident of
Kansas City having just moved into a new home in Tanglewood Lakes, Kansas. Born in 1923, just a few years after his father returned from "The Great War" in France, he found work on the railroad in his adult life. In February 1943 he joined the Army-Air Force and was assigned to the 1300th Base Unit of the India-China Division, Air Transport Command in Calcutta, India. The conclusion of the war brought him home and he recieved a honorable discharge December 11, 1945. That same year he met and married Sylivia J. Baldwin having a child soon thereafter. He returned to railroad work and later he and Sylivia split. August 15, 1966 he married Ava Alice Coldiron who already had 2 children, and they had a child in 1968. Now in Kansas City working for Rock Island Line which became "The Rock" shortly before it entered bankrupcy. In the spring of 1977 he saw a doctor complaining about throat pain and haveing difficulty swallowing, but, it was too late. He lost his short battle and passed away at the age of 54. The services were conducted by the Rev. Howard Curry at the family home in Tanglwood. The family panio was played by Mrs. Donnalee Terry and the paullbearers were Warren Randell, Jim Morris, Don Ward, Willie Williams, Glen Davidson and Harry McCloud. Graveside services were held at the Brooklyn Cemetery outside of La Cygne, Kansas on December 24th with a veterans honor guard. He left behind his wife Ava Alice Perrin, stepsons Donald Ralph and John Rodney, a son Curtis.
