DEATH CLAIMS MRS. GOODENOW

Mrs. Charles Goodenow passed away at her home in rural Clare, March 7, following a long illness.

She was born the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Williams Leosh April 13, 1885, in Miles Grove, Pa.

She moved to Clare with her parents as a child and attended the Herrick school.

She married Charles M. Goodenow July 25, 1901 in Conneaut, Ohio. The couple returned to Clare to make their home and for a time he operated a dray service here before he became active in farming. They purchased the Pfetsch farm in 1925. Her husband preceded her in death several years ago.

She is survived by one daughter, Mrs. Margaret Rought of Freemont, one son Merle Goodenow of Clare, eight grandchildren, 21 great grandchildren and 18 great great grandchildren, one brother, Alvin Leosh of Clare, other relatives and friends.

Services were held Monday March 10 from the Chapel of the Brokering Funeral Home at 2 p.m. with Rev. Lavern Bretz of Lansing officiating and interment in Cherry Grove cemetery.
