MERL M. GOODENOW

Merl Melvin Goodenow, age 86, of Clare, passed away on October 6, 1992, at the Mid Michigan Regional Medical Center-Clare.

He was born on September 18, 1906, in Clare, the son of Charles and Phila (Leosh) Goodenow. He married Cora Bartholomew in 1926 in Sylvan, Osceola County. Mr. Goodenow lived in Clare County most of his life, working his own farm in Hatton Township as well as working on the W.C. Cornwell Ranch for 56 years.

Surviving are his wife, Cora; one daughter, Phyllis (Ken) Bauder of Clare; two sons, Charles (Wavia) Goodenow and Clifford (Bev) Goodenow, both of Reed City; 15 grandchildren and 25 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister, Martha Rought of Hesperia, and one daughter, Margory Daniels of Clare.

Funeral services were held on October 9 from the Stephenson-Wyman Funeral Home in Clare with Rev. LaVern Bretz officiating. Burial was in Cherry Grove Cemetery, Clare. Clare Sentinel dated 10-13/1992 (Thank you, gladwin gal, for the obituary!)
