Mrs. Claude E. (Ethel W.) Bucher of 1201 S. Stewart Ave., a member of First Baptist Church, died Wednesday afternoon in Freeport Memorial Hospital after an extended illness. She was also a member of the Missionary Society and Golden Circle class, of the church. Born Dec. 15, 1885, near McConnell, she was the daughter of Adam J. and Harriet (Dively) Wales. She was married to Dr. Claude E. Bucher July 4, 1906, in Eureka. He died Oct. 5, 1915.
Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Kenneth (Helen) Brobst of Decatur and; Mrs. M. D. (Mary) Maynard of Freeport; eight grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; and a brother; Edwin, also of Freeport. She was also preceded in death by two sons, both of whom were doctors, three brothers and a sister. Funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Friday in Burke-Tubbs Funeral Home. The Rev. George White, pastor of First Baptist Church, will officiate. Burial will be in Rock Lily Cemetery, Winslow. Friends may call from 4 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.
