Fought in The Battle of the Bulge....his Unit was one of the heaviest hit. The "393" Story told to his Grandson (one of many) that it was a miserable experience..not just the extreme fighting against the Germans but the extreme cold. Example, so cold boots would freeze to his feet.

Uncle Russell was just the greatest. He was kind, honest,and so handsome! I saw a photo of him and my Aunt Alleyne shortly after they married, he is in Uniform and just so dashing! I loved him very much.
