Written by his granddaughter, Carolyn Bryant White: "Grandpa was a good Christian man. He had a good sense of humor; he would always tell the grandchildren something that would delight us and make us laugh. We would sit around the fire at night when it was cold, and he would tell us stories about himself when he was young.

"Often the grandchildren would congregate at Grandpa's house. Grandpa Bryant had a long dining table in the dining room. The grandchildren would file in around the table and sit on a long bench, which was placed against one wall. Grandpa was a quiet man during mealtime. Therefore, we were always quiet while eating. Grandpa never scolded any of us, but we learned from Grandpa not to be talking too much during mealtime.

"When I was in my teens, Grandpa would usually come to spend a night with my family about once a week. We looked forward to seeing Grandpa. We missed him after he died on February 11, 1937."
