Jennie Elizabeth Parrish was born at Mount Moriah, Harrison County, Missouri on December 2, 1866 and died in Skidmore, Nodaway County, Missouri, on May 20, 1926. She lived in Skidmore for most of her life. She married Charles Wesley Barrett on March 13, 1889. Mr. Barrett died on March 21, 1921. The couple had eight children, six of whom survived her: Mrs. Clyde Busby of Richmond, Virginia, Mrs. Bert Strickler, Archie, Agnes, Amy, and Alice of Skidmore. The other two children were Adrain and Allene. She was also survived by five sisters and a brother: Mrs. Belle Deffenbaugh of Fairfax, Missouri, Mrs. Mary Brand of Colorado, Mrs. Lydia Manchester of Skidmore, Mrs. Fred Gill of Arvada, Wyoming, Mrs. Grace Lyle and James Parrish of Skidmore.
