"Barrett-Strickler.
At two o'clock Wednesday afternoon, January 15, 1919, at the home of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Barrett, in the presence of the immediate families of the contracting parties, Rev. D. F. Harrison spoke the works that united the lives of Miss Alta Clare Barrett and Mr. Bert E. Strickler.
After the ceremony and congratulations had been extended, a dainty luncheon was served.
These young people are highly esteemed by a large circle of friends with whom the News is glad to join in extending heartiest congratulations and good wishes. May their lives be filled with as much of joy and as little of sadness as possible.
The happy couple departed on the four o'clock passenger, Wednesday afternoon, amid a shower of rice by a self-appointed committee who followed them to the station and decorated them and their baggage with placards bearing the following:
'Not lonesome, but nothing to say.' 'Married, but enjoy fun.' Dr. and Mrs. Bert E. Strickler, Heart Balm Our Specialty. Consultation and examination free - Anywhere, Anyplace.'
After spending a short honeymoon trip in Kansas City they will return to Skidmore to make their future home."
