"Last Friday night at about 12 o'clock, Aleene, the little four year old daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. Wesley Barrett, died of congestion of the lungs. The little one was sick only a short time. She had been complaining for a day or two with a bad cold but was able to be up and playing around the house until Thursday morning when she suddenly took worse and a few minutes past 12 o'clock Friday night she breathed her last.
The funeral was conducted at the house by Rev. H. J. Donaldson Sunday afternoon at two o'clock, after which the remains were laid to rest in the Masonic cemetery near this city."
