John W. "Jack" Bell, 89, retired farmer residing west of Fickle, died at the State hospital in Logansport at 8:45 p. m. Tuesday. He had been a patient there since February 13.

Bell was born on the farm where he lived June 26, 1863. His parents were Joseph E. and Sarah (McKinsey) Bell. In 1896 he was married to Anna Miller, who died August 10, 1947.

Surviving are a brother, Harry, of Great Falls, Montana, and several nieces and nephews.

Bell served two terms as trustee of Washington township. As a young man, he taught school several terms.

Funeral services were held Friday at 1:30 p. m. at the Kleinsmith Funeral Home, with Rev. C. D. Siple officiating. Interment was in Clarks Hill cemetery.
