Died from fall, while building his barn.

Obituary
Last Friday while at work with carpenters, shingling a new barn he was erecting, Edward Werner met with sudden and unexpected death. They were busy at work when the foot cleat on the roof on which they were standing gave way and he fell through the scaffold and space, some 20 feet to the ground. Fred Pudwill who was helping with the work also fell and lit on top of Mr. Werner, Ed it seems fell head first and in such a way that he was stunned and hurt, then too he was perhaps internally injured by the fall of Freddie on top of him. He was taken unconscious to the house where he lived about 2-1/2 hours after the accident. Dr. Richey was immediately summoned, and saw at once that there was no chance for the young man.

He was about 34 years of age he leaves behind to mourn his loss a wife and 2 children, his aged parents, brothers and sisters and a host of friends and relatives.

Ed was one of our promising young men always straight forward and tended strictly to his own affairs. He was well liked by all that knew him as was evident by the large number that attended funeral which was held Monday afternoon to show him their last respects. The churches were too small to accommodate the people, even the large hall where the services were held was packed. Mr Werner has the heartfelt sympathy of all, in her darkest hour.
