Ray C. Frazier, 72, of Newark, passed away at his home on May 26, 2008, following complications from a massive stroke. He was born Dec. 4, 1935, in Parkersburg to the late C.R. and Pearl Frazier.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents, B.F. (Frank) and Lillian Dodd Frazier, George W. and Anna Pyatt Snyder; and brother, Raymond F. (Franklin) Frazier.

Left to mourn his passing is his wife, Evon Jones Frazier; a son, Darrel (Janet) Frazier; twin daughters, Jeanette (Roger) Kesterson of Ohio, Jeanene (Will) Hyde of Parkersburg; five grandchildren, Dylan and Katie Frazier, Jentre Hyde, James and Landon Kesterson. Also surviving is a sister, Jane Cutlip of Massillon, Ohio; sisters-in law, Wilma Jean Frazier, Bernice Jones, Garnet Newlon; brothers-in-law, Lloyd Jones, Lewis Jones, Hershel Ashley; and several nieces and nephews.

Following graduation from Wirt County High School and a tour of Military duty, he was employed by Spencer State Hospital working there until it closed. He then transferred to Colin Anderson Center in St. Marys from which he later retired. He was also an active farmer most of his adult life and enjoyed deer and turkey hunting and digging ramps in the mountains of Webster County with his brother.

Funeral services were held Friday at Snyder Chapel Church of Annamoriah, where he and his wife are members, with the Rev. Faley Blankenship officiating. Burial was in the Fought Cemetery at Newark.
