The death of Roderick D. MacRae, age 85 years of 801 Palisades Apts. A pioneer resident of the city, occurred in a local hospital on February 23rd at 1:30 p.m. The funeral service will be held on Monday, Feb 26th at 1:30 p.m. form the Chapel of the Saskatoon Funeral Home, conducted by Rev Frank Meadows, Memorial donation to the Canadian Cancer Society appreciated in lieu of flowers. Surviving are his wife Ethel. One brother Frank MacRae Toronto, a number of nieces and nephew two stepdaughters Mrs. Edith Forrest, Vancouver B.C. and Miss Elva Metcalfe, Kitchener, Ontario. Mr. MacRae was born in Nova Scotia and came west to make his home in Saskatoon about 67 years ago a railway locomotive engineer; he served for 45 years with the CNR prior to his retirement. He was a veteran of the First World War, having served, as a lieutenant with the Canadian army in England and France, Mr. MacRae was a member of the Saskatoon Lodge No 16. A.F. & A. M. Saskatoon Chapter No. 4 R.A. M. Saskatoon Preceptory No. 55 and the Wa Wa Shrine Temple. He was a longtime member of Knox United Church; Interment will take place in the Soldier's Field in Woodlawn Cemetery.
