HOPE -- Reba I. Titus Hitchcock, 85, of Hope died at 7:45 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 1, 2001, at Columbus Health and Rehabilitation.

She retired from Irwin Union Bank in Hope in 1977.

Mrs. Hitchcock was a 50-year member of Order of the Eastern Star, Kappa Kappa Sigma Sorority, Lions Club, Hope Moravian Church, Kola Class and sang in the choir.

The funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday at Hope Moravian Church with the Rev. David Bennett officiating. Calling will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at Norman Funeral Home and from 9:30 a.m. until service time Wednesday at the church. Burial will be at Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Memorials may be made to Hospice of Bartholomew County or the perpetual-care fund of Hope Moravian Cemetery.

Born Aug. 13, 1916, near Hope, she was the daughter of Chester and Edith Schaefer Reed. She married Oren E. Titus July 2, 1938. He died July 3, 1984. She married Harry C. Hitchcock Oct. 11, 1985. He died Dec. 9, 1992.

Survivors include children, Kenneth and Daniel Titus, both of Columbus, Joyce Meier of Hartsville and Eleanor J. Settle of Hope; a stepdaughter, Ruth Hitchcock of Wichita, Kan.; a sister, Lola Herndon of Hope; grandchildren, Kari Hurst of Evan, Ga., Amy Roth of Lawrenceburg, Patty Wyatt of Fishers, Todd Meier of Middlebury, Jenny Wallace, Angela Penrose and Eric Titus, all of Columbus, Debbie Kline of St. Louis, Mark White of Mitchell, Melissa Shilling of Debary, Fla., Ed Settle of Indianapolis, Sandi Mobley and Doug Settle, both of Hope, and Mike Settle of Medina; 21 great–grandchildren; and one great–great–grandchild.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Ada Reed.
