Warner Bedford Benson of 3431 McGill, a maintenance superintendent of the Shelby County Penal Farm was a county employee for 57 years. He died June 27 at Methodist Hospital, after a short illness. He was 74.
Mr. Benson also served with the county road department and the old county workhouse staff.
He leaves his wife, Ada Mae Vanderburg Benson; a son William Eugene Benson of Germantown; a daughter Willie Mae (Mrs. Roy C Blanchard); a brother Henry Archer of Millington; three sisters, Mrs. J L Cole, Mrs. G C Hanson, and Mrs. M Diepholt, all of Memphis.
