Mary Lierz, daughter of Henry and Anna Rottinghaus was born February 14, 1891 at St. Benedict and passed away March 17, 1971 at Community Memorial Hospital in Marysville, Kansas after a brief illness.

On February 11, 1914 she was united in marriage to Joseph Lierz at St. Bedes Church in Kelly, Kansas. A few years after their marriage the moved to a farm 6 miles northwest of Frankfort, Kansas.

Mary was a member of the Annunciation Catholic Church, Frankfort, Kansas and the Altar society. Her husband, Joseph preceded her in death August 30, 1946, She also was preceded in death by her parents, 3 sisters and 2 brothers.

Survivors include five daughters, (Gertrude) Mrs. Allen Wilmont, Axtel1, Kansas; Genevieve of the home, (Anna) Mrs. Cletus Haverkamp, (Mary) Mrs. Roy Christy, Axtell, Kansas, (Rosanna) Mrs. Kenneth Haverkamp, Corning, Kansas; five sons, Henry Lierz, Vleits, Kansas, Cyril Lierz, of the home, Joseph Lierz, Fort Smith, Arkansas, Raphael Lierz, Frankfort, Kansas, Alvin Lierz, of the home; 2 brothers, Henry Rottinghaus, Corning, Kansas, Alvin Rottinghaus, St. Benedict, Kansas and 24 grandchildren.

Funeral services were held March 19, 1971 at 10:00 a.m. at Annunciation Catholic Church with Father George Seuferling, Emporia, Kansas and Father Leo Cooper officiating at the mass. Burial was in the Mount Calvary Cemetery, Frankfort, Kansas.
