Husband of Margaret A. Flynn who resided in Edwardsville, Pennsylvania.

Henry served as a Sergeant & Top Turret Gunner on B-24J "The Bull" #44-40688, 865th Bomber Squadron, 494th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in Luzerne County, Pennsylvania prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army on April 11, 1942 in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a miner and also as Single, without dependents.

He was married sometime after his enlistment.

B-24J #44-40688 took off from Angaur Island, Palau Islands on a bombing mission over Lahug, Cebu City, Philippine Islands. During the mission two of the engines on this B-24 were noted as not working for an unknown reason. They crashed into the sea.

Henry was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
