Son of Mrs. Mary L. Nicholas who resided in Wink, Texas.

Louis served as a Staff Sergeant & Gunner on B-24J "My Irish Colleen" #44-41176, 371st Bomber Squadron, 307th Bomber Group, Heavy, U.S. Army Air Force during World War II.

He resided in San Bernardino County, California prior to the war.

He enlisted in the Army Air Corps on November 9, 1942 at March Field, Riverside, California. He was noted, at the time of his enlistment, as being employed as a Salesmen and also as Single, without dependents.

B-24J #44-41176 took off from Morotai Island, Indonesia on a combat mission over Tarakan, North Kalimantan. They were believed to have been shot down. They crashed at sea with the entire crew lost.

Louis was declared "Missing In Action" in this crash during the war.

He was awarded the Air Medal with 1 Oak Leaf Cluster and the Purple Heart.
