Probably born in GMD #1539 (Doyle District) of Marion County, Georgia, where she appears, aged 3 years, in the household of her parents in 1900. Daughter of Melvin C. & Sarah Ella Elizabeth (ROYALS) RIGSBY. Married Benjamin PATE.

"MRS. BEN PATE. // Mrs. Ben PATE, aged 20 years, the wife of Benjamin PATE of the Halloway [sic – Halloca] district of Chattahoochee county, passed away yesterday morning at 4:30 o'clock at the PATE home after an illness extending over a period of several weeks. // In addition to her husband, the deceased is survived by a little girl eight days old; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Melvin RIGSBY; two sisters, Misses Manda and Nellie RIGSBY, and six brothers, Doc, John, Travis, Jack, Arthur, and Melvin RIGSBY, Jr. She was a member of Amos Baptist church. // The funeral will be conducted from the late home at 11 o'clock today by Rev. PEED, after which the interment will be made at Johnson's graveyard."
