Frank W LeFever was born in 1919. He enlisted in the Army on 6 Nov 1942 in Los Angeles, CA. He had completed two years of high school and was living in Los Angeles at the time of his enlistment.

S/Sgt Frank LeFever (service # 39264617) served on the crew of the Lillie Bell as the Left Waist Gunner.

The Lillie Bell (42-52191), a B-24 Bomber, was lost in North Sea on return flight from a mission into Germany. The plane was badly damaged, lost fuel, and could not make it back to England. From a crew of ten, there was one survivor, bombardier Lt Gerald Joseph "Joe" Cyr of Old Town, ME, who gave a personal account of the ditching.

The crew served with the 735th Squadron of the 453rd Bomb Group, Heavy. The home base was Old Buckenham Field, England
