Graveside services with military rites for William Robert Childress, 88, Cadiz, will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Kentucky Veterans Cemetery-West with the Rev. Wesley Curtis officiating.

He died at 7:15 p.m. Thursday, March 19, 2009, at Jennie Stuart Medical Center of natural causes.

A native of Trigg County, he was born Nov. 9, 1920, the son of the late Cecil Clifton and Betty Lee Cameron Childress.

He retired from Means Linen Service where he was a truck driver.

He was a World War II Army veteran and a prisoner of war.

He was a member of the Mt. Zion United Methodist Church.

A brother, Clarence Woodrow Childress, Tucson, Ariz., survives.
