The Cadiz Record obit posted 28 Mar 1974 reads as follows:

Mrs. Betty Lee Childress, 74, died Friday, March 22, at 5:50 am in Trigg County Hospital following an extended illness.

A native of Trigg County, Mrs. Childress was born August, 25, 1899, daughter of the late Jesse Lee and Julia Ann Branden Cameron. She was a member of Cadiz United Methodist Church.

Funeral services were conducted Sunday, March 24, at 2 pm Goodwin Funeral Home with Rev. John C Brinson officiating. Music services were presented by Mrs. James Tuggle, organist. Burial was in Mt. Zion Cemetery.

Survivors include two sons, Robert Childress, Calumet City, Ill. and Woodrow Childress, Tucson, Ariz.; two daughters, Mrs. Flora Pool, Hopkinsville, and Miss Edna Mae Childress, Cadiz; six brothers, Charlie, Tom, Jesse, and Walter Cameron, all of Trigg County, Gordon Cameron, Calvert City, and Clint Cameron, Columbus, Ohio; two sisters, Mrs. Alfred Miller, Central City, and Mrs. Odell Sumner, Cadiz; eleven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Two daughters preceded her in death - Mrs. Gladys Helen Bridges on January 8, 1968 and Dorothy Hester Childress, who died in infancy.

Pallbearers were Carl Robert Pool, J D Pool, W C Pool, R C Pool, Stanley Bridges and James Mason.
