Daughter of Thomas W. and Mary Brookman Beaty, wife of Charles Pelham Bolton.

In 1869 Cora married Charles Pelham Bolton he died on their honeymoon and she returned home to live again with her parents.
In July 1870 Cora's sister Frederica was swimming/bathing in the waters of Kingston Lake under the watchful eye of a servant when Frederica started drowning. Cora heard the screams of her sister and servant and jumped in to save them but unfortunately Cora, Frederica and the servant all drowned. The grieving parents buried their daughters in Kingston Presbyterian Church Cemetery, a short distance down the lake from their home.
