James Oral Sheldon, 79, of 312 Coronado Avenue, died Tuesday. He was born in Clinton, Iowa, and came here in 1924. He was a member of the Reorganized-Latter Day Saints Church.Surviving are three daughters, Mrs. Edna Briggs and Mrs. Ellen Wyckoff of Long Beach, and Miss Opal Sheldon, Salem, Oregon; two brothers, Frank, Cherokee, Iowa, and Nels Sheldon, Cameron, Missouri, sister, Mrs. Lulu Bannister, Cherokee, and nine grandchildren.Services and interment will be in Cherokee with Mottell's in charge of local arrangements.Long Beach Independent, September 22, 1949
