Mr. James Ralph Jordan, 88, died Monday (March 30, 2009) at Satilla Regional Medical Center following a short illness.
He was a native of Dixie Union and a lifelong resident of Ware County. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Janie Milton and his parents, Dave Jordan and Frances Rowland Jordan.
He was retired manager of Cauley Packing Company. He was a member of Sweat Memorial Baptist Church and served in the Army during World War II.
Survivors include his wife, Waunell Tuten Jordan of Waycross; a daughter, Susan Jordan Russell (husband Henry) of Waycross; a son, Johnny Milton of Waycross; four grandchildren, Jordan Russell, Sloan Russell, April Milton Spivey, Jay Milton; three great grandchildren, Savannah and Brooklyn Gilbertson, Grace Milton; a brother, Bradley Jordan of Dixie Union; and numerous nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
A funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (April 1, 2009) at Sweat Memorial Baptist Church. Burial will be in Oakland Cemetery. The family will be receiving friends at Music Funeral Home Tuesday night from 6 until 8. The satilla river fishing buddies are requested to meet at the church at 10:40 a.m. Wednesday to serve as honorary pallbearers.
