Mr. E. D. Jordan, 91, died Monday (February 9, 2009) at Baptist Village Retirement Communities following a brief illness.
He was a native of Ware County and had resided most of his life in Ware County. He was son of the late Dave Jordan and Frances Rowland Jordan, and was preceded in death by a son, Gary Jordan.
He was retired from the restaurant business and was a former employee of Scapa Dryers. He loved to work in the garden and served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of Rome Primitive Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Grace King Jordan of Waycross; one son, Gene Jordan (wife Ruth Anne) of Waycross; two grandchildren, Dave Weston Jordan (wife Eleanor Hall) of Waycross, and Kristie Ann Bennett (husband Kev) of Waycross; two great grandchildren, Kayla Anne Bartels and Kyle Brady Bennett; two brothers, Ralph Jordan and Bradley Jordan both of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 11 a.m. Thursday (February 12, 2009) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Rome Cemetery in Dixie Union. The family will receive friends 6 until 8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home.
