Vera Irene Johnson Marcek was born in Holladay, Utah November 10, 1910. Graduated from Murray High School, 1929, after missing one year to care for her sisters and brother.
Last survivor of 15 children born to Otto N. and Elise Stromness Johnson. A resident of Highland Cove Health Care Center. Died June 15, 2003.
A Navy wife and homemaker, she excelled in quilting. One of her quilts was awarded a blue ribbon at the Utah State Fair.
Predeceased by her husband, Stephen, after 62 years of marriage; and son, Donald, West Valley, UT. Survived by her daughter, Sharon Schmid (Al), Cameron Park, CA; five grandchildren; and 10 great-grandchildren.
A closed family graveside service was held at Lake Hills Memorial Park Aug 12, 2003.
